It's usually just salt and vinegar chips that have milk in them. But you find the occasional brand that puts in milk :(

As for the iq test, I heard about that ages ago and according to some random internet iq test, my iq has gone up since turning vegan (btw, it is a lot higher than 95 or 105)

And Albert Einstein was a vegetarian - then vegan - and he was incredibly intelligent, hence there is no correlation between diet and iq.

Potato chips aren't just sliced up pieces of potato, fried.

they puree the potato and then fry that paste after salting it and adding the whatevers.

they probably mix a little milk in that puree before they shape it and fry it.

probably not as milk milk, but as butter or something to get the flavour or the salt to stick.

and to help with the texture too maybe.

Most annoying isn't it? My favourite flavour, salt 'n' vinegar, often has whey powder. I believe it's used as a thickening agent.

Switch to Kettle chips. They list not only their vegan products on their website but their parve, their kosher, their halal - very helpful.

It is probably a CYA statement in case something else in the processing plant gets into the chips.

I'm sure it's a company secret, but they are adding whey or lactose to the cooking oil for a flavoring. Kind of gross ha.

It's probably to make them creamier, like butter. Dipped in milk powder when they dip them in salt and other stuff too maybe.

No, the milk gives it richness and its crunch. Im not sure where they put it. They put it in the chip i guess.

in the additives... along with all the pork product that comes with it.

yes, ladies and gents... processed foods aren't vegan/vegetarian!

:0!!!!!

don't even bother to ask about candies and frozen foods... forget ice cream... forget jello... puddings....

forget sodas...

additives abound! mostly remains from calfs stomach, pork fat in general, pork stomach, intestine, hoof... so on make up 99% of the chemical preservatives and ingredients in all packaged / processed foods.

even those vegetarian burgers and other fake meats... from boca, morning star, garden burger and more have dairy in them.. and casein!
