Just tell them- ("Mom, Dad, I'm vegetarian. Please pass the turnips.") without any graphic accounts of slaughterhouses or factory farms. Tell them you have found that you feel better when you don't eat meat.

The Teen's Vegetarian Cookbook by Judy Krizmanic - Amazon has it for $7.96.

There are vegetarian meal recipes online. Also you should let your family know. It is a personal choice so if that is what you like do just that. I know substituting other items like nuts for meat is a good way to get protein. From what I have seen it is mainly a soy and plant based diet. Best of Luck.

Trying to guilt your family or nag them is the fastest way to lose support. If you're asking how to tell them that you're vegetarian, the best way is to just do it. The most important thing is to pick your timing well. Don't say it right as Mom's dishing up meatloaf for dinner. Don't say it when Dad's running around trying to get ready for work. Pick a non-food time when everyone is relaxing.

well i am 16 yrs old i am vegetarian too :) well i am hoping to become vegan soon as i dont eat eggs (accept pancakes ) and i do not drink cows milk as i dont like cows milk.

My family doesn't eat a lot of meat but they do eat it even i told them that is not right thing to eat the death body but they not really care, i am hoping maybe someday they will relise what they are doing to animals and to their healths. being vegetarian or vegan is a lot healthier than meat eaters. and also its always easy to make good tasty healthy food from the vegetables, grains and fruits , i always make my own vegetable and fruits and grains, recipes from my imagination :) and its good thing and easy

Tell your parents that you feel very guilty eating meat as it involves the mass slaughter of innocent animals.

Tell them that animals are made to suffer confinement in crowded stalls, excruciating pain, torture and the most painful death that you can't even imagine.

Show them the links which I have posted.

Meat eating also directly affects the environment and degrades our natural resources at such an alarming rate that it would only seem rational for the whole world to go vegan.

Tell them that animals are also fed hormones and antibiotics to make them fatter and keep them alive in conditions in which they would otherwise die.

Their flesh contains these hormones and antibiotics which then enter our body when we eat them and plays havoc with our health too.

why to go vegan(show these links to your parents)

Just quit being a vegetarian. Do you really want animal over population?
