Ok, so i have tried twice to be vegetarian, and once pescetarian, i am 15, and i ate lots of nuts and dairy, but i started feeling sick and ill after about 1 month or longer. i fainted one day and my mom put a stop to it all and said "until you can find a way to be healthy and get everything you need while you are vegetarian, then you are not gonna be vegetarian, ive looked on many sites, and found some small stuff, but it doesnt help me much.

my whole family is big meat eaters, i eat the meat, but i can tell you i dont like it one bit! not at all, i know what the people do to these animals, and what they feed them and when im eating it it is absolutely revolting to me, but what am i gonna do? starve myself?

my mom went with it for a while (buying me vegetarian meals, and fixing me a diffrent dinner than that of the rest of my family) but then we cant buy new veggie patties every week.. so i would just eat whatever she made but not anything with meat in it.

but the thing is

Best bet is to still eat eggs and dairy. You can eat all the veggies your family has for dinner and one glass of milk and you got your protein. You could also have an fried egg, peanut butter sandwich, some peanuts, etc.

Dry beans are very cheap you can get a weeks upply for a few bucks. Learn to cook with beans. A 15yo should be learning basic meal planning anyway. I've been doing it since I was 13.

I think your main problem is your trying to get all your answers off the internet. You would be better off getting a few good vegetarian cookbooks.

everyone else has provided good answers, so i just want to add that at your age you should ask your doctor about iron supplements, that might be a reason why you fainted. the 2 problems most people have when they become vegetarians at a young age after eating meat their whole life is getting enough 1. protein and 2. iron. your body is used to getting a lot of that from meat, so be careful to replace it. nuts, soy, eggs, and mock meat will give you the protein, and dark veggies like spinach and broccoli will give you the iron.

You don't need to buy extra vegetarian meals to live vegetarian. Ever considered the big range of vegetable and beans, brown rice, couscous, barley etc? Your mom could cook a normal dinner with veggies and salads, and you just skip the meat. Try to check out some websites on your own..te web is full of them and learn to cook simple meals you could share with your family.

Don't panic..many people had to convince their families and finally made the switch and got accepted. Don't be stubborn with your arguments, but be preapared to tell facts and provide calm, logical answers. Good luck. :)

Starving yourself is NOT the answer.

Check out the Vegetarian Society's website. It has recipe ideas for new vegetarians! Follow the link below:

The key is balance. My veggie diet makes me feel better, not worse. Eat a balanced diet.

[edit] what do you expect us to say? I am not understanding where you are coming from.

I turned vegetarian when I was 17, I have never gotten sick from it once.

Dont you have a health food store like Whole Foods in your area? Search for a health food store who sells mock meats, and tons of healthy products for vegetarians.

You may have to wait until you are an adult to be a vegetarian EDIT: BECAUSE OF YOUR PARENTS WISHES, study the diet, prepare yourself and you will someday become a healthy vegetarian.
