The list of famous vegetarians is very large. It would probably be difficult to list the all here. Many websites give a long list of different vegetarians.

Just to name a few

Leonard Nimoy

Mark Twain

Leonardo Da Vinci

Jim Carrey

Bob Barker

Tobey Maguire

... and the list goes on

** On an added note, Hitler was not a vegetarian. He consumed meat on many occasions(his "vegetarianism was for medical reason, and certainly would not be for ethical). If Hilter is considered a vegetarian, than Jefferson must be as well, since his diet was very similar(however many meat eaters would say Jefferson was not since he consumed meat on occasion). I love how people think putting Hilter as a vegetarians is a way to try and negate the dietary choice. The fact is, there were many more meat eating mass murderers than vegetarian, which goes to show that diet has nothing to do with it, and is irrelevant.

Adolph Hitler was supposedly a vegetarian. Hmm...didn't he have radical religious beliefs and fanaticism and helped in killing 2 to 6 million people not too long ago? Hmm. In addition to his hatred of the Jews, which is very well known, he was a bundle of "anti-" attitudes - anti-democratic and anti-Republican. He was an ardent Social Darwinist, which means that he believed that the process of survival of the fittest by natural selection should be artificially sped up by the government, for example by killing 'incurables' and various 'undesirables'. His beliefs were as convoluted as vegetarian beliefs.

"When about 16 Years of Age, I happen'd to meet with a Book written by one Tryon, recommending a Vegetable Diet. I determined to go into it.... My refusing to eat Flesh occasioned an inconveniency, and I was frequently chid for my singularity...." - Benjamin Franklin

Woody Harrelson (cheers/actor) is a vegan who is very into raw foods and appears in raw food videos

Also US congressman, Dennis Kucinich, who ran for president in 2004 and 2008 is the only vegan in congress/the senate.

Albert Schweitzer was a vegetarian and so is Sanjaya of American idol fame (and his mamajaya/sister..in fact her mom brought him homemade vegetarian foods and protein shakes the whole time he was on the show ;)
