Is white rice bleached or chemically processed any thing like that? I LOVE sushi, it is my favorite food, but the only drawback is that i can only find it made in white rice, is the rice used for sushi bleached or anything? what do they use to make it stick together? Is white rice still a natural food, how do they make it white? I don't care much if it has less nutrition value, i just don't want it to be bleached or ran through chemicals to make it white or anything, i am just trying to eat a more natural, non-chemical filled diet.

White rice is simply rice with the shell (or hull) removed. The inside of the shell is white, this is also why white bread is white, not because it was bleached. Sushi does come in brown rice if you prefer, you just need to look in different places, but the white rice ones are fine too. The reason the rice sticks together is simply they type or rice they use and the way they cook it, not by adding a "sticking" chemical. White rice is natural, just has the shell removed, the reason people say it's bad for you is because there are nutrients and fiber in the shell which give it a higher nutritional value for its calorie content.

For more info just google white rice/ brown rice.

Rice is alright- no allergens, no gluten, and is one of the least allergen producing foods worldwide. It has carb but no cell damaging guten- such as the type on white flour .

Rice in itself has a structure that if you cook it, the rice flour becomes gluey ( not glutinous based, just like a paste), and this makes it sticky.

Chemicals and such, that' got nothing to do with the actual rice, check the source of the grower.

Rice is always a natural food, it is one ingredient unlike white bread. White rice is not going to make you puffed and bloated like wheat flour.

But seeing if the Chinese grower is not making it with pesticides might be hard. YOu cn always wash rice grains to get starch off them ( the white floury powder that comes from the hulling- it is not flour from wheat. That way at least you'll be sure you've taken any cleaning chemicals off them, as long as you wash them in purified water and not tap water full of fluoride.

While it is true that brown rice is better for you than white rice, if white rice is the worst thing your eating your probably still pretty healthy. I love white rice. Plus if you really think about it when you eat sushi its not that much rice. Its not like you eating an entire pot of it.

Jasmine rice is naturally white and it's a whole grain. Cooks in about 15 minutes.

i saw a show on the history channel about how uncle bens parboiled rice was made

and it said that much of the vitamins were still retained

i doubt that it applies to most kinds of white rice but most cultures that have rice for a staple food hate brown rice.

i would not recomend eating 4 cups an afternoon, in case you are able to desire to maintain all of it the way down to love a cup and a nil.5 then you incredibly might in all possibility see greater effects along with your weight. it additionally relies upon on what different meals you're eating besides. basically devour each little thing sparsely and with the excercise i think of you will lose the burden you wan't to.
