I already excercise a lot and its not helping at all! Every time I try to eat healthy I can't do it because I'm starting to like junk food a lot more now:( does anyone know of any foods I could eat that have barley any carbs and fat that would still make me feel full? I think that excercising will burn it all of but that doesn't work as well as I thought. I think I just need to get a better eating habit and I don't know how!! (other than becoming a veggitarian) Can anyone tell me some good foods and excercises that I could try???

Here are some general tips.

-Slowly start reducing the amount of bad foods (ice cream, soda, pastries, etc.) that you eat and replace them with healthier snacks (fruit, yogurt, etc.).

-Make your own food. A lot of store brought goods have preservatives in them.

-Make all of your meals for the week at the beginning of the week and save that week's meals in the fridge.

-NO MORE SODA

-Shop around the parameter or the grocery store. All of the junk food tends to be up and down the middle isles so avoid most of the isles.

-Eat slowly. This will help you feel fuller.

I find that a good sized yogurt with some granola in it is a great food for me. It makes me feel full and it is healthy.

Eating healthier really is a lifestyle change. Don't give up! It is ok to fall off the wagon once and a while because it is hard to change eating habits so don't be discouraged.

You can exercises 7 days a week, but if you're eating a lot, you'll still be hefty.

Carbo's like white bread, white rice, potatoes, pasta- it's really hard to shift that weight once it's on your body.

Exercisesdoesn't burn it all, not at all. Even if you ate wholewheat bread and cereal, oatmeal, brown rice, millet, tofu, lots of fruit, nuts and seeds, avocado, corn peas and no junk food at all, if you ate a LOT of that food, you'll still be hefty.

The white carbs and junky processed foods have the same calories. Your body gets heavy if you eat too many calories no matter if those cals are good, or bad. Of course, the bad white bread and white flour and fast, junk food have an effect on the TYPE of weight your body puts on and how healthy your blood sugar and fat is, but if you want to lose excess weight you just have to eat fewer calories.

Good foods?

Eat carbs ( wholewheat, oats, brown carbs, and no "wheat" flour- that's just a scam, it's white flour the same as white bread, you need to eat "wholewheat" flour) the same as you would condiments- a small a scattering on top of your food.

Make the bulk of your food up with beans, lentils, legumes, pumpkin, vegetables- not the starches like rice, pasta and potato's. Just eat the carby foods as you would eat salt and pepper.

Excercise- keep moving, never use a lift ( elavator), always use stairs and not an escalalter, bike to the shops, don't use a car to go out to the cinema or shopping on saturday. Buy a cheap bike and suck it up.

Carbs are an irreplacable source of energy for our bodies. Your entire body uses carbs for energy, in fact that's the only source of energy for your brain.

Cutting off your supply of carbs causes your body to crave foods that contain them, like junk food. You need a healthy balance diet to keep your body supplied with fuel and satisfied. Things that will keep you feeling full longer are protein and complex carbs.

Complex carbs are different than simple carbs. Your junk food is full of simple carbs which turn supply a fast burst of energy but is gone very quickly. Complex carbs supply a sustained source of energy over a long period of time. Complex carbs are in whole grains like brown rice, whole wheat, oatmeal, barley, etc.

Fiber is also carbs that will help you feel full longer. Fiber is indigestable and is very good for you. It helps keep your digestive system healthy too. Fiber is found in whole grains and lots of fruits and veggies.

Protein is in meat as I'm sure you know but it's also good to eat vegetable proteins too. I'm not saying you should become a vegetarian but eating a little less meat is good for everyone. I believe that humans were meant to eat meat but I also believe that most of us eat to much meat these days.

sweets, F.Food & other types of junk-food: the more you crave, the less you behave.

there's been speculation that many products with cheese cultures contain a drug that acts similar to that of morphine. can't comment on the truthfulness of this, but it seems to make sense.

junk-food is unhealthy, fattening & is chock full of empty calories! read the nutrition label on a Hersheys choc bar, you'll see it's got 200-230 calories. 160-180 from FAT!

you're craving more food, b/c you're exerting more energy. it's like if you're income goes up, so does your tax-bracket.

energy storred in plants from the sun, obtained by jus consumers from living matter; is counted in calories.

you'll need to increase caloric intake by 10-18.8% for every 200 calories you burn during exercise.

so if you're doing 60 minutes of cardio p/day, you'l ned to up your calorie intake by 20-39.6%. assuming you eat 1700 calories (daily) you'll need to up it to 1960-2000 calories (daily)

Here's what you need to eat. Please make a note of the pulses and vegetables which I've mentioned. Apart from those mentioned, it would be beneficial to purchase fruits and vegetables which are native to your region so that you can formulate your own recipes in the future.

You need to make sure you eat pulses at least three times a week and fruits and vegetables everyday.

Have a fruit for breakfast(apart from something else of course) and vegetables/pulses for lunch and dinner.

Make sure you include ALL varities of fruits, vegetables, pulses, grains, nuts, seeds and dry fruits in your grocery list.

Don't eat mock meat and soybean as mock meat contains sodium and soybean is bad for health.

Mock meat is also soy based so too much soy can be bad for health.

Actually even a little soy is bad for health.

What's wrong with soy?

Soy beans are naturally toxic to humans, but they're harmless when they go through a fermentation process, which is how we get tofu.

But soy is being used in more and more things these days.

Just look through your cabinet. You'll be surprised.

Anyway, most companies aren't putting their soy beans through this process because it takes too much time, and time = money.

Instead, they put it through a chemical process, but this rarely gets rid of the soy's toxicity completely.

Symptoms of a high soy diet are thyroid problems, breast cancer, and other complications.

People get these symptoms because the soy they eat isn't fermented.

Mock meat can never be part of a staple diet(food what you eat everyday) as it is highly processed.

You CAN have it ONCE IN A WAY.

Its a luxury and not a need.

Now looking at a staple diet, You'll need to consume naturally occurring FRUITS,VEGETABLES(cauliflower, carrot, potato, beetroot, broccoli, okra, eggplant, radish, turnip, cabbage, bitter gourd, spinach, capsicum(aka bell peppers)),PULSES(chickpeas, kidney beans, black eyed peas, green gram, black gram, lentils, lablab bean, moth bean, horse gram, cow pea, double beans),NUTS(cashew nuts, peanuts, walnuts, pistachios, raisins) and GRAINS.

Also, do have figs once in a while as it is good for blood purification.

Make something like rice and bread your staple diet.

You can have rice with vegetables or lentils/legumes for lunch and bread(I have Indian bread usually) with pulses for dinner.

You will get all vitamins and minerals from fruits, vegetables, pulses, legumes and nuts provided you consume them in variety so don't fall for the myth that says vegans/vegetarians need to take multivitamin supplements.

Vegans/vegetarians don't need to take supplements as they get all their nutrients from the above mentioned sources.

Supplements are supposed to be taken by people with deficiencies so do not take them UNLESS they have been prescribed to you by a doctor.
