humans are so cruel to animals they even kill them and people say they never hurt animals but by eating the meat they have been cruel.

Consider this - if all humans stopped eating meat and poultry today there would be billions of cows, pigs and chickens killed tomorrow and they would be exterminated as a species. It's not true to say that”all” humans are cruel to animals. It's also impossible to be cruel to an animal that you are never in contact with. Eating meat involves NO cruelty at all. You could, of course, argue that breeding, rearing and then slaughtering animals involves cruelty although I would dispute that cruelty is necessarily involved. A lot depends on your definition of cruelty.



Humans are omnivores and meat is part of an omnivorous diet. Watching animals in the wild shows a great deal more cruelty than the average human is responsible for.

Although I think it isn't good to kill animals just to eat them, some animals are bred just to be eaten, and, if let to live to adulthood, will be in a lot of mortal pain and distress that we as humans cannot cure. It is within our DNA to kill animals for food, otherwise why would we be omnivorous?  You can't say that lions should just stop killing other animals just because its 'wrong' can you? its in their nature, just like it is in ours! 

I think that as long as we are not too destructive to our planet and the animals that live in it, then it should be fine to kill animals for food. If you are really unhappy about animals being killed for food however, then you have the right to be a vegetarian/vegan, if that is what you want to do!

To answer your question, not all humans are cruel to animals.  There are lots of vegans and vegetarians out there.  And, if you're so concerned, every movement can start with you, so lead by example and start not eating meat, if that is a concern of yours.

Because it's easy. Their meat is tasty and they are (relatively) easy to raise. I may be cruel by eating meat, but hey we (humanity) have been killing them since ancient times and the world goes on, earth spins and sht. By the practice of raising animals, the animals are beaten to contain, move, and harvest them.  By doing these acts of animal violence the human becomes accustom to the emotions of violence and this easily translates to violence against a fellow human.



However there seems an 'escape clause' to everything in the Buddhist practice: If a Buddist Monk where to visit you early evening and you stated, "Please join us  for our evening meal?  We will kill the ole' rooster and make chicken soup!"  The Monk could join you for the meal but could not partake of the rooster soup … because the Chicken had been killed in his behalf.

Humans are also classed as a top predator. A wild hog, a wolf, a bear, or any large enough predator in the wild if hungry isn't going to care if you're a human. If they're hungry aren't going to care if the manner in which they'd kill you is cruel. Have you ever watched a cat with a mouse a small squirrel or a small rabbit? They're more cruel in their own way, in that they'll play with it before they kill it. That's  just one example of how  nature is cruel.



You come off though as someone from  an urban/suburban area, that's spent little or no time out in the  woods, or watching even how other animal are cruel to other  animals.
