Our teacher asked us what our favorite animal was, and I said,
"Fried chicken." She said I wasn't funny, but she couldn't have been
right, everyone else in the class laughed.

My parents told me to always be truthful and honest, and I am.
Fried chicken is my favorite animal. I told my dad what happened, and he
said my teacher was probably a member of PETA. He said they love animals
very much. I do, too. Especially chicken, pork and beef.

Anyway, my teacher sent me to the principal's office. I told him
what happened, and he laughed too. Then he told me not to do it again.
The next day in class my teacher asked me what my favorite live animal
was. I told her it was chicken. She asked me why, just like she'd
asked the other children. So I told her it was because you could make
them into fried chicken. She sent me back to the principal's office
again. He laughed, and told me not to do it again.

I don't understand. My parents taught me to be honest, but my
teacher doesn't like it when I am. Today, my teacher asked us to tell
her what famous person we admire most.

I told her, "Colonel Sanders".

Guess where I am now...

Well, there's a time and place for comments like that. And it might be offensive to her for her own reasons. You don't know what she's been through, and if I were you, I'd stop. But I agree, she has issues with humour because your story made me laugh really hard.

But to answer your question, I don't think being honest is the issue here, it's you being a smart ***.

That's okay though, cuz you're pretty funny.

If she's had that many missed days - the teacher should be reporting it to the Principal - who turns attendance in to the superintendent's office. A "truant" officer should be reviewing the list - and they will do a "home visit" and see why she hasn't been to school. If she does not have a Dr.'s excuse - then her parents could get in trouble, have to pay a fine,or have to go to court. Also - if she misses too many days - she will get an "Incomplete" and fail the year -- I'd let her teacher or principal know that she is not really sick - and that her parents are just letting her "skip school" for no reason.

Hay the kid was asked a question and he answered it didn't he?

I don't believe he should have been sent to the Principal's Office because of the answer he gave...He was just telling the truth because he was taught to do so

Now he must be thinking why tell the truth if it only gets you in to trouble!!!!

Lol! Good one!

What's the bet that the Principal, acting quickly as he heard you approaching down the hall to his office, hid his "bucket" meal from view just in the nick of time!

Look on the wall for an autographed portrait of the 'Colonel' in his office...

LOL. That's a funny story

My 7th grade science teacher told the class sharks are mammals.

I said out loud "Are you kidding me? Do sharks nurse their young? Has anyone ever milked a shark?"

Then she said, "Okay you're right. But whale sharks are mammals."

Whale sharks are just really big sharks and they aren't mammals, but I decided to let her get away with that one.
