I think a vegan fast food restaurant would be a good idea. So I am curious to know what different vegan food items you would sell at your fast food restaurant. Would you have a drive thru for your restaurant. Also, would the inside of your restaurant look like mcdonalds or more like panera bread. I am curious to see what answers i will get.

Actually I am working on a veggie burger concept restaurant and have a menu going and everything.

Basically it is a bunch of custom made and homemade vegan burgers with all sorts of toppings and a fried foods menu and a cold salads menu (slaw, potato salad...) and what will hopefully be an extensive drinks menu and a few deserts.

Here are 3 out of 26 different burgers plus a build your own burger

Just Because:

stuff’d with cheeze topped with onion rings, sauteed mushrooms and spicy asian chili mayo

Mild Mel:

stuff’d with cheeze topped with habeñero mayo and homemade red jalapeño pickles

Red Barchetta:

classic topped with red wine sauce, sauteed mushrooms & sauteed spinach

No drive through or attempt at making a fancy restaurant. Just a simple place serving amazing vegan burgers.

FISH IS NOT VEGETARIAN!

Friend i am glad to hear that you are going to create a vegan fast food restaurant because it is rarely found. I think it would be best if your restaurant look like mcdonald. It would be decide where you are going to run a restaurant business and what type of food do the people like? BTW in my opinion it is better to sell french fry, dosa, pizza, chat, sandwich, cheese, paneer item, sweets, breads, spaghetti, green salad, fruit salad, juice, peanuts fry and so on these all dishes depend on the place where you mentioned.

fish isnt very vegan but at least your giving more options to other people and maybe even one meat type dish ...im a big fan of vegatarian food and a big fan of gordon ramsay take a look at aplace he did over in kitchen nightmares somewhere in LA i agree with gordon fresh veg are delicious and i hate all the pretend meat things...theres no need to pretend your a burger if your a tasty veg.... i love bean and lentil stew too just made the most deliciouse brown lentil potatoe and onion soup the other day and then accidentally prayed fly killer over it and had to chuck it...actually i kept it a day or too;{ so sad...but it was really filling and so good i just made up the recipe but imsure you could find a good one....i also hate that most vegatarian resteraunts here in ireland serve food thats been sitting inhot trays all day so the food is totally overdone...theres nothing like a brown couliflower to make me want a steak... irish resteraunts are pretty bad though ....esp for veg but theres so many simple tasty things out there....i love a good sprouted bean salad too makes you feel so good inside. with a nice lemony dressing just the most fresh tasting good superfood i can think of. also i had a no wheat no dairy parsnip chocolate pudding once that was fan fricken tastic...

Ever been to wheatsville? It's an all natural grocers store. They have this little bar place on the side and you have to order the popcorn tofu poboy. It had fried popcorn tofu with all sorts of veggies and a special sauce with alfalfa sprouts on top in a roll. Ahh I'm hungry just thinking about it. A vegan fast-food place would be brilliant. All your ideas sound good.

There was an awesome vegan fast food place here in Melbourne for one year in 2005 called Pronto Brontos. They did heaps of burgers and chips, and also cake. It was expensive but very tasty. They got sick of it and closed after a year. Since then a vegetarian chain has opened called Lord of the Fries. I don't like their stuff as much, it is even more expensive and very fatty but they sell mock meat burgers to omnis who don't realise they are vego. If they cost half as much I would eat there more often. We also have vegetarian and vegan pizza shops here.

So... I don't have to dream we actually have fast food catering for vegans!

If I were to do my own I would go Asian style and sell mock chicken drumsticks and nuggets, noodles with vegies etc. There are quite a few noodle places around town but none specifically catering to vegos, even though there are several Asian vego restaurants... I reckon that's a gap in the market. Mee goreng baby, the Asian students at uni eat about 6 tonnes of that every day. Plus the vegan versions of noodles are suitable for Muslims so there is a big niche here in Melbourne with lots of Indonesian students (mostly Muslim) and Chinese students (mostly Buddhist) plus your regular vegans like moi.

I would take Taco Bell and make it totally vegan/vegetarian while still preserving the taste. One of the few things I miss about being an omnivore! I care too much about my current lifestyle to ever return to it though.

Honestly if I could I would make all of the restaurants serve vegetarian equivalents. Just because my dietary choices have changed, doesn't mean my tastebuds have forgotten (for better or for worse :/).

First, if you're planning to operate an establishment aimed at vegetarians, you should probably know that vegetarians do not eat fish. Fish are animals.

I would like to see a vegan grilled ham and cheese, a seitan burger with vegan cheese, baskets of batter fried veggies with a yummy dipping sauce....

Now I'm hungry....

That would be so cool! A vegetarian menu and a vegan menu would be on mine. I would have it just like Panera Bread. It would be contemporary, but it would also have a walk up window and a drive through.

It would have fresh vegan breads and desserts. I would serve panini sandwiches, wraps (and grilled wraps), and soups, and veggie burgers (as well as salmon and tuna burgers for vegetarians). We would also have fresh homemade protein bars, protein smoothies (as well as not fortified smoothies), and fortified shakes.

I would try to make nothing artificial. All protein would be from nuts and beans. Tofu would be used too. And everything would be fresh and healthy.
