They are Vegetarian, even the marshmallows are. And they use free range eggs.

To those above who are saying stuff like 'ice cream doesn't have meat in it'. The biggest ice cream seller in the uk, Walls

uses whey that contains animal rennet.... hence not vegetarian. Walls Ice cream was set up to use the by products of Wall saussage manufacture, however these days they use vegetable fat...but animal rennet in the whey.

In Britain Ben & Jerry's are suitable for vegetarians.

I don't know all the Ben & Jerry flavors, I bet you can eat most. CHECK for marshmallows. Vegetarians shouldn't eat gelatin. 'Natural flavors' sometimes aren't vegetarian. That is such an incredibly VAGUE listing that I don't pay too much attention to it. Any vegan-certified packaging will confirm 'natural flavors-from plant sources'.

If you want to try the best vegan ice-cream, try Purely Decadent's Peanut Butter ZigZag!!!! It' worth a try, right? SOOO good!

the first guy really needs to brush up on his spelling! okay got that out of my system now to answer your q. I think if you're just a vegetarian and not an all out vegan, then dairy is okay. And last time I checked, ice cream is primarly made out of it.

Don't you find it amazing that so many idiots come on here and think just because you're asking a vegetarian question, it means meat. For the uninformed......ice cream has milk which most of us don't drink either. We are well aware that ice cream doesn't have meat.

EDIT to NONE: No, milk is NOT vegan. I have been vegetarian for 17 years myself which is almost half of my life, so please dont insinuate that I am a stupid child. For the record, I didn't ask the question about ice cream, just made a comment that just because something is meatless doesn't make it vegetarian. I don't drink milk or eat eggs or things with gelatin either. If you chose to drink milk, that is your choice, but you aren't completely vegetarian in my opinion.

look to see if it has mono or dyglycerides in it, if it does they come from beef tallow and therefore are not vegetarian

EDIT TO JEMMA - Yeah, I've been a vegetarian for 19 years (longer than you've probably been eating solid foods). MOST vegetarians DO eat Dairy including milk (and if you didn't why would you even be asking about ice cream? makes NO sense, and neither does this question.). VEGANs don't eat dairy or any animal products. I ASSUME a vegan wouldn't, as I just said, even be asking this question as its blindingly obvious that ICE CREAM is not vegan. Its also - and call me crazy - BLINDINGLY obvious that ICE CREAM is vegetarian as long as you eat milk. DUH.
