Depends. there's soft tofu and hard tofu.

you can create a stir fry with hard tofu, or put it in salad

soft tofu, i use in soups.. especially those 3 minute soups..

anyway,

for hard tofu.. mix with olive oil and soy sauce.. on a hot frying pan, fry the tofu.

you can add any flavor to the tofu and it will pick up on it.

There are lots of ways to cook tofu. If you are looking to try it and do not want to experiment, I would try some recipes from the Food Network. Alton Brown did an entire episode on Tofu a couple of years ago on Good Eats. I experimented a little and never quite found a recipe I enjoyed Tofu with. But I do love vietnamese/chinese/japanese soups that have tofu in them. Good luck and have fun with your food.

There are many way to cook tofu however the easiest way is to eat it uncooked, such as in your salad or toss it in a cup of hot soup. You can stir fry it however you need to buy the extra firm and squeeze the water out. one important tip, don't consume huge servings as it does effect the thyroid gland. Recent studies have proven tofu to actually be a carcinogenic food.

I don't cook tofu. I've seen it done, but I like better just out of the package with some soy sauce over it

I buy the firm tofu so I can slice it, I fry it in a pan with some olive oil, and whatever spices I am in the mood for. I really like it crunchy.

First I squeeze out the moisture between paper towels. Then I dip small bite size cubes in soysauce, and roll it in a dry rub of spices, whatever you like. Place on a cookie sheet and bake for about 20 minutes at 325 degrees. After it cools, toss it into a salad.

you can cook them like tempura.

get the firm tofu, slice them into serving portion, soak them into beaten egg or you can mix flour and water as your batter...roll them in panko Japanese bread crumbs...deep fry them until it turns golden brown.

arrange the tofu tempura in a platter, drizzle them with tempura or katsu sauce, sprinkle some roasted black and white sesame seeds and top them with cilantro for garnishing.

or you can dip it in tempura sauce, katsu sauce or you can be creative on where to dip them.

deep fry it.

but personally i'd just skip the cooking and eat it with honey syrup.

first I make a marinade out of soy sauce, a bit of oil, salt and pepper...and then fry it.
