Raisin juice is a pure extract of raisins. Throughout several processing stages, raisins are leached with water to produce raisin juice. The liquid is then evaporated in a vacuum pan to produce a self-preserving concentrate. Raisin juice concetrate contains a minimum of 70 percent natural fruit soluble solids. It's added to a variety of foods, including dairy, confectionary and baking items. Raisin juice extends the shelf-life of bread products; it is a natural substitute for preservatives; and it sweetens and colors natural baking goods. For confectionary items, raisin juice acts as a sugar substitute and a filling for hard candies and molded chocolates. In crisp cookies and crackers, raisin juice helps control breakage. With chewy or soft cakes and cookies, the raisin juice can help maintain moisture. It also is a natural binding agent in cereal bars. Raisin juice serves as a natural syrup for yogurts and ice cream. It enhances the color and flavor of chocolate milk and ice cream. It also brings out the flavors of condiments and is an all-natural coloring agent.

I never heard of raisin juice but my father used to make raisin sauce. He would take some raisins put them in a pan with water covering the raisins. Cook them til soft then I think he would put them in a blender. Makes a nice sauce. Be sure the water is not too much or too little.

Tasty on toast, waffles, ice cream or anything a person would want to put fruit on top of. Good luck on the raisin juce.

Prunes are actually a spieces of plum. Prune juice is made from the plum before it's dried.

You can't made juice from a raisin because when you dry a fruit you extract all or most of the moisture from it.

Funny thought though. lol

Yep, it's called grape juice or wine!

I like the way the arabs/middle easteners put raisins, pomegranite, dates, & apricots in a glass in slightly sweetened water and let a sit for a while before eating. mmmm....

I know of an instance the doctor ordered the patient to eat a couple of ounces of raisons soaked in bourbon whiskey every day. Some old time arthritis remedy of sorts. This could be called raisin juice perhaps?

Because the whole point of raisins is the grape has all the moisture dried out of it. So there is nothing left to make juice of.

do you know what a raisin is? its a grape that has gone through the process of dehydration, dehydration is when you remove all the water or in this case the juice from something, therefore no juice for you,but you already knew that.

Because they sell grape juice already. It would taste nearly the same if not identical, so it would be kind of pointless. And for prune juice, I don't remember seeing plum juice anywhere, so they do prunes instead.

Rasins are dried Grapes. And there is Grape Juice. Therefore Grape Juice and Rasin Juice are technecly the same Juice.

The California Raisins have blocked and prevented the making, marketing, selling and consuming of raisin juice for years now. They hold a lot of sway with their deep pockets and mafia connections it seems.

Dried prunes? Aren't prunes dried plums? How do you dehydrate a dried.....ANYTHING?

Anyhow...have you ever had prune juice? Do you know what it DOES to you?

Raisin juice would probably be prune juice X 2! Who needs THAT mess?!

They do - it's called grape juice. If you soak raisins in water, it tends to ferment, and you end up with wine. And "dried prunes" is redundant - prunes are dried PLUMS.

I think raisins are too much of a pain in the butt for the juice people to squeeze all day.

yea, it's grape juice.

I just thought I'd point out that prune is french for plum and raisin is actually french for grape. So you know plum and prune juice, same thing, grape and raisin juice, also the same thing.

Why not just drink some grape juice? I'm sure the taste would be similar. Or, buy a juicer and make your own.
