No a vegetarian does not eat chicken or beef ramen noodles because the flavor packets have meat and meat seasonings in them. The Oriental kind are fine if I remember correctly.

No. The flavor packets from most ramen/noodle companies have beef, fish, pork, and chicken flavoring, dehydrated broth and dried meat. They especially like using ground dehydrated shrimp. I have found quite a few brands that make vegan friendly ramen though since I live right by an ethnic food store (with a whole aisle dedicated to ramen!)

It depends on the brand. A lot of things like that (Mr.Noodles, for example) aren't made from actual broth, it's just seasoning. However, broth's and things that are actually flavoured from meat, not just seasonings, are not vegetarian. Therefore, the actual meat-flavoured ones are not consumed, others can be.

Vegetarianism isn't concerned with how something is "flavored"-

it involves the actual *ingredients*,

vegetarians not eating foods containing those ingredients obtained via slaughter of animals.

Hi April,

If there are no meat products or by-products then technically a vegetarian can eat them. However, I think it also depends on the person. I do not like the taste of meat/chicken/fish, therefore I do not eat them.

Hope that helps!

A vegetarian does not need to substitute any meat with meat flavors. It is controvercial to the whole idea, and shows luck of vegeterian ethics.SAY STOP TO ANIMAL KILLING AND ANIMAL TESTING.

Yes, because they don't have real beef or chicken broth in them, however it depends on which brand of ramen I suppose.

I don't because I don't like the taste of any meat. I'm pretty sure that most of those noodle flavourings have got beef/chicken in them. Some other savoury foods have flavours which are chemically the same as beef/chicken, but as I said I don't like the flavour of meat. If you're desperate for some noodles, try oriental flavour and add some soy sauce.

No. To me that is eating a non-vegetarian meal.
